I want welcome you to the American Clematis Society’s website. I hope you will enjoy it.  Both our society and website have come a long way since 1996.  This is the website’s fourth makeover.  I would like to personally thank our extremely talented webmaster, John Gibbons, without whom this site would not be possible.

Saying that I really love clematis would be an understatement and it has been an amazing experience running the very first clematis society in the United States, the American Clematis Society.  It has afforded me the chance to meet and communicate with so many wonderful clematis gardeners.   

My philosophy is that gardening should be fun and growing clematis should add to the enjoyment.  I have tried to incorporate that philosophy with that of the society’s and have hopefully achieved my goal.  I would like to invite any of you who are interested in joining our society to please do so by clicking on Become A Member .

It is my hope that our website will inspire you to help me attain my life’s ambition of making this beautiful and versatile vine as “Recognizable as the Rose” in America.
